THE CHARLESWOOD GROUP / ABOUT THE DEVELOPER
Wes Reimer
Wes in his earlier career has held various sales and management positions in both international and local companies. Over the last 9 years Wes has owned his own mortgage company and a financial service company focused on private equity placement. He has received many national achievement awards in both of these businesses. One of the benefits of being in the mortgage and private equity businesses was an opportunity to explore real estate development and learn from some of the strong leaders in this area.
About 10 years ago alongside the mortgage business he started into real estate development with a passion for design in both the outdoor spaces and building layout that would create living environments that were focused on both ascetics and function. Over the last decade he has been actively involved in several projects. Wes was vice president of Windstone Developments , a 160 acre residential land development project in Steinbach MB. Alongside this he has been involved in building homes in various communities in South East MB over the last 11 years. In 2011 he participated in the launch of a 75,000 sq foot retail complex in Sherwood Park, AB which is anticipated to be complete in 2016. Wes also designed and developed his current commercial office and is just completing a new home for him and his wife.
Wes and his wife Sherril enjoy being involved in numerous volunteer positions in their community. Time away from the office is spent at their cabin in summer and also travelling especially to visit their daughters who attend university outside of Manitoba. As both Wes and Sherril share this common interest in housing and decorating often they will tour developments in other communities they travel to looking to glean new ideas to incorporate into their current projects.
George Foley
George originally studied Labour Relations at Queens University and held multiple senior Management positions in both public & private sector corporations throughout his Labour Relations career. George became known in the industry as a forward thinking tough negotiator who stayed close to his core value of dealing with honesty and integrity in all he did.
Later George was drawn to the Financial Services industry and earned a reputation as a dedicated and hard-working advisor consistently achieving top national awards in multiple organisations over the next number of years.
Intensely disappointed with the fallout of the financial downturn of 2008 George dedicated himself to finding better ways to help his friends and family and became one of the first people in Manitoba to achieve his Canadian Securities, Private Investments Certification. Soon after he began working with a Manitoba based real estate development corporation, and several years later was recruited as an independent representative for one of western Canada’s largest Private Capital investment dealerships. Since that time George has participated in multiple successful real estate development projects throughout Canada and the United States, with projects located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Florida, Texas and Arizona.
Most recently George sold his private investment business to become partner and Vice President of the Charleswood Group Inc., a Manitoba based Real Estate Development Corporation that brings exceptional value to the marketplace by offering high-quality reasonably priced residential and commercial developments to Manitobans and western Canadians.
He is a graduate of the (BDC) Business Development Corporations, “Business Management Program” and past President of the Winnipeg Business Exchange.
George is proud to have been given the opportunity to learn more about the diversity of people and businesses in his country as he travelled across Canada as an appointed member of the Governor General of Canada’s study conference.
George and his wife Katherine strongly believe in giving back to their community and hold volunteer positions on numerous boards and committees. Katherine has a passion for interior decorating and George sees fishing as a way to relax and spend more time with his family. Both enjoy the simplicity of country living and spending time with their two adult children.
